Ingredients for making Wholemeal Catheto Rice:

 1 cup of whole grain rice

 3 cups of hot water

 1 small chopped onion

 2 cloves of crushed garlic

 1 tablespoon of oil

 ½ teaspoon of salt

How to make wholegrain rice:

Heat a pan with the oil, chopped onion and garlic and let it cook for 1-2 minutes. Add the rice and saute it together for a few more minutes or until the grain starts to turn transparent.

Tip: If you want, you can add 1 bay leaf to the stew, to add more flavor to the rice.

Add the water and salt, partially cover the pan and cook over medium heat for approximately 30 minutes or until the water dries and the grains are done - the rice should be tender but still slightly hard inside.

Tip: Brown rice takes longer to cook than white rice. To reduce this time, soak the rice in water for a few hours before preparing this recipe.
